New Review In Sing Out! Magazine

This review is currently in the the Winter 2008 Vol. 51 #4 Sing Out! Magazine.
Nice traditional American folk mixed with a heavy dose of blues, bluegrass, old time and even a bit of contemporary country. There's a refreshing variety here, from "When the Levee Breaks," with just her guitar and high lonesome vocal, to the full band (guitar, bass, drums, pedal steel) on "Cheatin'," an original that would be right at home on country radio. -- JA

upcoming shows

Down South is hosting a honky tonk dance night at the Town Pump every other Monday, 9:30 to 11:30 or 12. The shows so far have been a blast, with dancers enjoying the old wooden floor, special guest singers, a film crew with lights, good times and good friends stopping by, and of course locally brewed beers on tap.

Spring shows coming up are the Grey Eagle Spring Country Two-Step Dance on March 20th, the first day of Spring!, and the Lake Eden Arts Festival the weekend of May 9,10, 11. This summer, Down South will also be appearing in Chapel Hill for the 40 Acres House Concert Series . Please check the calendar for details.
